Paola Sinisterra is a Hands on Human. Born in Colombia, studied textile design in Spain designed for Zara then moved to Hong Kong in 2008 for a design and sourcing role, then started to design Tangram, her own label. Over the years she has worked in cultural retail, socially engaged project and museum hands-on programmes, always keeping 2 hands and 2 feet firmly planted in the kitchen. Not only is she a consummate student of traditional textiles and a sustainability advocate who’s exploring crafts beyond consumer products, she’s also busy fermenting exciting cultural collaborations, tending to gardens and plants and experimenting with ways to gather creatively. Paola was recently granted the Asian Cultural Council’s Hong Kong Arts Circle Fellowship and will spend 4 months in 2027 in India researching Mud dye communities.
