Sculpting Care: Materiality and Memory in Contemporary Art
Discover the art of care in everyday gestures.
One of the most personal and meaningful ways we show care is by cutting and serving fruit. When we prepare fruit for others, it is an act of kindness, connection, and thoughtfulness. We think about the people who will enjoy the fruit, shaping the pieces in ways that will best suit them.
Join us on Peng Chau for fruit-cutting workshops, part of Mark Chung’s solo exhibition “Butter.” This project is also part of the Inter-island Festival. Come explore how everyday actions like cutting fruit can be a form of art that expresses care and memory.
We invite you to experience everyday actions and materials in a new, meaningful light.
