Being Human Fizz Hub
SCOBY Garden Display
What happens when fermentation meets botanical art? SCOBY Garden is an interactive bio-craft space exploring the deep connection between microbial life and human senses. Here, kombucha cultures (SCOBY) are transformed into tea-infused floral sculptures.
Your journey begins as you step in to take in the installation, noticing how the organic veining and floral pigments catch the light. Next, lean into the observation bar to smell the SCOBY and guess the hidden tea infusions locked inside. Then share your story: write or draw the memories and emotions these scents bring up in our notebooks, before flipping the cards to reveal each tea. Finally, hand-stamp your own memory postcard to take home, using custom stamps made from images of dried SCOBY.
Responding to the Being Human Festival’s theme of Crossroads, it reflects on where our senses, cultural heritage and identity meet the living natural world we share.
